03 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
05 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
→ Wet Ingredients
06 - 2/3 cup whole milk
07 - 2 large eggs
08 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ For Frying
10 - 4 cups vegetable oil
→ Cinnamon Sugar Coating
11 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
12 - 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
13 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
# Steps:
01 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
02 - In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
03 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined without overmixing.
04 - Heat vegetable oil in a deep saucepan or Dutch oven to 350°F.
05 - Using a small cookie scoop or two spoons, carefully drop tablespoon-sized batter balls into hot oil. Fry in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 2 to 3 minutes per batch.
06 - Remove donut holes with a slotted spoon and briefly drain on paper towels.
07 - While still warm, brush each donut hole lightly with melted butter.
08 - In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll each donut hole in the mixture until fully coated.
09 - Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
