# Steps:
01 - Place the strawberries and basil in a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker; muddle gently until the berries release their juices and the basil is fragrant.
02 - Add the simple syrup or agave and the lemon juice to the muddled mixture and stir or shake briefly to combine.
03 - Fill two serving glasses with ice to chill and create a cold base for the mixture.
04 - Strain or spoon the strawberry-basil mixture evenly over the ice in each glass.
05 - Pour chilled sparkling water over each glass to fill, then stir gently once to integrate without losing effervescence.
06 - Finish with lemon wedges and extra basil leaves as desired and serve immediately.
